DALRC Retiree Benefit Trust Hardship Plan
Are you aware assistance for paying Medical and Drug insurance premiums may be available to you as a Delta retiree, spouse or survivor? As a part of the bankruptcy settlement, Delta provided funds to help offset the cost of insurance for non-pilots who retired on or before 01/01/07.
A Delta retiree, spouse or survivor age 65 or over, who has been awarded the Social Security Low Income Subsidy (LIS), or under age 65 who has been approved for Social Security Disability may qualify for assistance from the Hardship Plan. Please note that approval for the Social Security LIS or Social Security Disability is required first. A Hardship Plan application for benefits is also needed for those under age 65, included here. Please review the Hardship Plan Questions & Answers Summary, and Summary Plan Description for additional information.
You may be able to get extra help to pay for the monthly premiums, annual deductibles, and co-payments related to your Medicare prescription drug costs. Social Security provides the Low Income Subsidy (LIS) program for people who have limited income and resources. To learn more about the LIS program, please visit http://www.ssa.gov/prescriptionhelp/. A copy of the application for the Low Income Subsidy may be found here.
