My Delta career began in May, 1971 as a Houston based Stewardess, later moving to Atlanta. After flying for over 30 years in the leadership position as well as that most important position of line Flight Attendant in both the domestic and international markets, I retired on January 1, 2002.
A graduate of Samford University, I completed the Bachelor of Arts program in Psychology in 1970. I was elected to serve on the DALRC Board of Directors in October, 2008 and elected secretary of the DALRC in January, 2009. In December, 2008 I was elected to the Retiree Benefit Trust VEBA Board where I served as secretary. I was also a member of the DALRC Retiree Assistance Program Board in 2009. I currently serve on the DALRC Board of Directors and was elected Chairman of the Retiree Benefit Trust Board for 2010.
My husband of over thirty years, Jerry, who is also a Delta retiree and I live in Panama City Beach, FL.
I began “Stewardess” training with Delta on January 31, 1972. After graduation, I was based in ORD; most of this time was spent on reserve. I transferred to DFW in 1975 and spent the rest of my 29+ year career living in Rockwall, TX and working at DFW. I flew a total of 23 years as a line flight attendant/onboard leader. The final seven years were spent as an Operational Supervisor.
During my years in supervision, I co-founded the Aircraft Expert Program, a program that allowed In-flight Service a voice at the table along side pilots, engineers, and tech ops to make decisions directly affecting our work areas on the various aircraft. I was also honored by being chosen as one of the 1st to join the Amigo Program, an assignment at the General Office job shadowing and being mentored by various levels of management.
I retired in July, 2001 and have since worked for Pulte Homes as an escrow officer and hold an active real estate license in Arizona.
I am a graduate of Arizona State University and hold a B.S. in Business. I look forward to working for the Delta retirees using my life learned skills and experience.
